The Old School

Remember 1984? IBM had just released the PC-AT, which came with a whopping 10 meg hard drive. In the world of desktop database software, dBase III ruled the world. It was so "incredibly fast" it took several minutes just to sort a thousand records.

That might not sound like much, (because it isnt!), but it was sufficient when we helped the State of Oregon design a desktop database program to manage its inventory of surplus right-of-way properties.

We've Come a Long Way

That was more than two decades ago, which is an eternity in software years. We recently had the pleasure of assisting Integra Telecom with a Miscrosoft SQL Server database containing millions of records. Today's databases can search through enormous mountains of data in the blink of an eye. They are reliable, efficient, and much more pleasant to work with than those old-school databases.

The process of creating database programs is fun fun fun! First we listen while you tell us all your war stories. We won't talk much but we will ask lots of questions to stimulate you to tell us more stories, which will lead to more questions and even more stories.
